LG Electronics North America invites applications for a Physical AI Lead in its Emerging Technology Lab in Santa Clara, CA. You will lead a team to develop embodied intelligence and deploy it at scale across LG robot platforms.

This role blends advanced research with product development, collaborating with robotics and AI teams, HQ partners, and external labs to translate breakthroughs into consumer-ready systems.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, ML, or related field, with strong publication record and 3+ years of industry experience.
• Deep research and engineering expertise in robot foundation models, world model training, spatial intelligence, multimodal learning, and demonstrations/self-play.
• 1+ years of experience leading technically ambitious research projects in dynamic environments.
• Hands-on experience integrating AI models with real robotic systems and sensors (RGB, depth, LiDAR, etc.).
• Experience with physics-based simulation platforms (PyBullet, MuJoCo, Isaac Sim) for large-scale data generation and evaluation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across research, engineering, and leadership teams.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical direction for LG’s Physical AI team, leading multimodal robot foundation models and physical intelligence.
• Lead collaborations with LG HQ and external labs to integrate robotics tech into LG ecosystem.
• Build and influence a cross-functional Physical AI ecosystem with AI, robotics, software, and product teams.
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables aligning research with business objectives.
• Lead fundamental and applied research advancing physical intelligence toward real-world robotic systems.
• Invent and improve paradigms for physical intelligence including multimodal models and agentic robot orchestration.
