Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional PHP development, including hands‑on PHP 8 and exposure to legacy PHP 5.6.
• Strong object‑oriented programming skills and ability to architect large applications without traditional frameworks.
• 5+ years of SQL experience, including database design, indexing, and optimization.
• 1+ year of AWS experience, proficiency in Linux, and experience using Git.
• Demonstrated experience using AI‑assisted coding tools in software development.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical challenges, make informed decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across international engineering teams and maintain overlapping Eastern Time business hours.

Position Title: Senior PHP Engineer

A growing, technology-driven marketing organization is seeking a Senior PHP Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance custom web applications and lead data systems that directly support business revenue. This role will focus on building scalable PHP applications, optimizing databases, modernizing legacy systems, and collaborating with engineering teams across the US and internationally to improve performance and expand technical capabilities.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of professional PHP development experience, strong object-oriented programming skills, and expertise in MySQL, AWS, and Linux environments. This individual is a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment, takes ownership of technical challenges, and is comfortable working independently within a custom PHP codebase.

Salary Range: $115,000 - $140,000 / annually, DOE

• Ability to independently troubleshoot complex technical challenges, make informed decisions, and contribute to continuous improvement
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across international engineering teams and maintain overlapping Eastern Time business hours
• Experience with LLM APIs, lead generation platforms, or French language proficiency is a plus
