Draper is seeking a Senior Photonics Engineer in Cambridge, MA to advance photonic platforms for sensors, LiDAR, and quantum systems. • Bachelor's or master's in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering, optics, or similar.
• PhD degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and applies advanced design methods, theories, and research techniques.
• Analyzes and recommends design approaches to meet prototype or production requirements.
• Plan and conduct hardware projects or phases of projects.
• May provide technical consultation and leadership to team members.
• Develops quantum, optical, and/or photonic sensors and instruments.
• Propose performance improvements and cost reduction actions.
• Apply quantitative analysis to root-cause technical problems and implement solutions.
• Maintain internal/external relationships and communicate progress to leadership.
