Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Phlebotomist II for Day Shift. The role involves phlebotomy in inpatient and outpatient settings, data entry in the Laboratory Information System, and handling specimens with accuracy and care.

You will support staff as a preceptor and may perform related clerical tasks to ensure smooth lab operations. Ideal candidates have at least 3 years of related experience, including data entry, with preferred neonatal/pediatric phlebotomy experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience including data entry and specimen handling
• Neonatal/pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred
• High attention to detail and accuracy in labeling and transport of specimens

Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures for collecting and processing specimens.
• Register and track orders in the Laboratory Information System.
• Serve as preceptor and trainer for new staff and students.
• Provide clerical support such as answering phones and faxing lab reports as needed
