Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Sr Pharmacy Technician to assist in the preparation and distribution of patient medications under a registered pharmacist. You will help maintain pharmacy inventory and stock, and support cost-effective medication use across the hospital.

The role requires aseptic compounding skills, familiarity with USP 797/800 guidelines, and alignment with regulatory and billing processes. A GA Pharmacy Technician license and ongoing national certification within 1 year are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED cert.
• Current GA Pharmacy Tech License.
• National Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPhT) status obtained within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Competent in aseptic compounding of sterile IV preparations per USP 797/800 guidelines.
• Procures and distributes medication orders per physician or pharmacist request according to policies.
• Maintains adequate stock of medications and supplies per inventory control levels.
• Assists with management of automated dispensing machines and related reports.
• Supports pharmacy workflow by routing calls to appropriate staff and delivering patient-specific meds.
• Participates in quality assurance programs focused on patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Assists with monthly regulatory inspections for departments stocking medications.
