Job summary

Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 for a full-time 11:00am–7:30pm shift under the supervision of licensed pharmacists. This role involves compounding, distribution and dispensing of medications and supplies, including sterile and non-sterile preparations, and may include training Pharmacy Technician 1.

The position requires 3–5 years of related experience, a high school diploma, and an RPT license with CPHT or PSI certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of pharmacy tech experience.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician license (RPT) and CPHT or PSI license/certification required.
• Strong analytical, communication, and accuracy skills.
• Ability to work under supervision of pharmacists in sterile and non-sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Replenishes automated drug distribution machines following policy.
• Troubleshoots equipment issues related to distribution machines.
• Performs sterile and non-sterile compounding for hospital units.
• Ensures adherence to sterile procedures and proper labeling.
• Inputs data into the hospital's clinical information system.
• Monitors stock levels and coordinates supply with users.
• Dispatches medications following established procedures where needed.
• Performs extemporaneously compounding and prepackaging under supervision.
• May train or coach Pharmacy Technician 1 as needed.
• Demonstrates CARE values and professional conduct.
• Performs other related duties.
