Job Description

Performs all typical duties of a retail, mail order, specialty pharmacy staff technician as defined by the Washington Board of Pharmacy and local pharmacy drug outlet procedures. Fills physician orders for patient medications under a Registered Pharmacist's supervision. Communicate with and service the needs of the Pharmacy clientele. Has advanced knowledge and skills in one or more specialty areas in the pharmacy. Advanced skills include specific certifications such as immunization administration, MTM, Technician Verification. This position is responsible for supporting the practice of pharmacy, performing delegated tasks, and performing record keeping, and clerical activities under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Provides support to specialized areas of pharmacy services and serves as a resource and/or trainer for other pharmacy staff. The omission of a specific requirement or responsibility will not preclude it from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical extension of the position.

Required Qualifications:
  • Washington Pharmacy Technician License upon hire
  • 2 years of experience (4160 hours) in pharmacy practice
  • 1 year of experience in customer service
  • 2 years of experience for internal promotion candidate must be competent in responsibilities of Associate Pharmacy Technician and Pharmacy Technician (external candidates are required to have the equivalent experience)

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
