Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 3 to assist pharmacists in formulation, preparation, dispensing and storage of medications for inpatient and outpatient services. You will ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of pharmaceutical products following department policies.

The role requires 1 year of pharmacy experience, active PTCB/NHA ExCPT certification, and a valid registered technician credential.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Minimum experience: 1 year in a pharmacy setting.
Certification: PTCB or NHA ExCPT Certification.
Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing.

Responsibilities

Handle, pull, label, package, compound, and deliver medications to patient or authorized personnel.
Help maintain medication and supply inventory.
Identify, pull, and dispose of expired medications as needed.
Clerical duties such as filing, data entry, printer management.
Maintain compliance with state, federal, and regulatory requirements including audits and logs.
Manage ADCs inventory using reports and troubleshoot minor issues.
Refill and manage expiration dates of code carts, kits, med trays, etc.
Handle and deliver controlled medications per regulations and policies.
Triage phone calls and escalate medication-related questions to the pharmacist.
Navigate EMR related to missing medications and charges/billing.
Understand handling, compounding, and storage of hazardous medications per policy.
