Job summary

UVA Health Haymarket Pharmacy is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The technician will fill, prepare, and deliver medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and affordable medication use.

The role requires Virginia registration and strong math and communication skills. Travel between campus facilities and on-call duties may be required; the base compensation range and responsibilities are outlined in the job

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Virginia Pharmacy Technician registration required; PTCB or ExCPT preferred.
• Strong math, written and verbal communication, and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Fill, prepare, and deliver medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Triages and escalates questions outside technician scope to pharmacist or supervisor.
• Maintain knowledge of medication names, doses, routes, and interactions.
• Demonstrate patient interview skills and professional communication.
