Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing or an equivalent combination of auditing experience, college education and training in auditing.
  • A CIA or CPA certification earned through written examination, or degree including substantial auditing or accounting coursework (e.g., 15 semester hours).
  • Strong knowledge of Government Auditing Standards and related policies and procedures.
  • Ability to plan, collect and analyze data and evidence and to draw sound conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex audits at an Office of Inspector General or similar audit organization.
  • Develop basic audit programs that clearly define scope and risk in accordance with Government Auditing Standards.
  • Interpret and apply pertinent laws, regulations, policies, and procedures to audits.
  • Plan, collect, and analyze data and evidence and use sound judgment to reach conclusions.
  • Prepare written reports with recommendations to improve agency policies and operations.
  • Participate in presenting findings and justifying recommendations in meetings or conferences.
  • Contribute to and lead teams to accomplish common goals.
