Job summary

Apptronik is seeking a Senior Perception Hardware Engineer specializing in Sensor Calibration to own the calibration of a multi-sensor humanoid head. You will design fixtures, write calibration algorithms, and establish factory processes for intrinsic, extrinsic, and temporal calibration across perception streams.

You will collaborate with optical, mechanical, and embedded teams to ensure precise sensor alignment, drift characterization, and scalable calibration workflows for manufacturability

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
• 5+ years of industry experience in perception hardware, computer vision, or robotics, focusing on sensor calibration and validation

Responsibilities

• Own the link between the physical world and the robot's autonomy stack through sensor calibration
• Design and implement intrinsic models for optical and inertial sensors
• Develop extrinsic calibration between sensors and base, and ensure temporal synchronization
• Build automated calibration pipelines for manufacturing lines and self-calibration routines for field use
