Job summary

SynerComm is seeking a Senior Penetration Tester to plan, execute, and document advanced security assessments across networks, applications, and cloud environments. The role offers remote work with optional on-site time in the Greater Milwaukee area.

You will mentor juniors, contribute to red/purple team exercises, and translate findings into executive-ready reports for diverse stakeholders. Strong offense security skills and relevant certifications are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in network, web app, and cloud security assessments.
• Proficient with offensive security tools (Burp Suite, Metasploit, Nmap, Kali).
• Solid OS and network protocol knowledge (Windows, Linux, TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
• Ability to analyze vulnerabilities and communicate risk clearly.
• Professional certifications such as OSCP, OSWE, OSEP, GPEN, GXPN are beneficial.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional security and infrastructure teams in enterprise environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven ability to work on-site with clients and teams, and manage multiple engagements independently.
• Commitment to continuous learning, research, and responsible disclosure practices in cybersecurity

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document advanced penetration tests across networks, applications, cloud environments, and emerging technologies.
• Perform threat modeling, vulnerability identification, exploitation, and post-exploitation activities.
• Translate technical findings into clear, actionable reports for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with security engineers and architects; contribute to red team and purple team exercises.
• Develop custom tools and scripts; stay current with attack techniques.
• Mentor junior team members; participate in client presentations.
• Support continuous improvement of assessment methodologies.
