Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking a Senior Penetration Tester (W2) for a fully remote, 3-month contract. Responsibilities include conducting pentests across web apps, APIs, infrastructure, and cloud environments, and producing detailed reports with remediation guidance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in penetration testing and strong reporting and communication skills. The role is remote with a 3-month term and a pay rate of USD 75–78 per hour.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in penetration testing, offensive security, red teaming, or related cybersecurity roles.
• Experience testing web apps, APIs, infrastructure, cloud environments, and Active Directory.
• Strong understanding of attack techniques, vulnerability assessment methodologies, and testing frameworks.
• Experience using industry-standard pentest tools and techniques.
• Ability to identify, exploit, validate, and document security vulnerabilities.
• Experience producing detailed pen testing reports with remediation recommendations.
• Ability to manage multiple assessments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Run penetration tests across web applications, APIs, infrastructure, cloud environments, and Active Directory.
• Identify, exploit, and validate security vulnerabilities using industry-standard tools and techniques.
• Execute vulnerability assessments and testing aligned to established methodologies and frameworks.
• Validate remediation efforts and confirm vulnerabilities are addressed.
• Create professional penetration testing reports with findings, risk descriptions, evidence, and remediation recommendations.
• Manage multiple assessments and deliverables while meeting timelines.
• Communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Keep up with emerging attack techniques and offensive security practices.
