Blue Origin is looking for an RF Payload Design Engineer in San Francisco, CA, to develop complex PCB designs for cutting-edge space vehicles. This role requires expertise in signal integrity and design for space environments.
The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years of PCB design experience. Applicants will collaborate on high-performance circuits and contribute to pioneering safe and sustainable space travel.

Blue Origin is pioneering the future of space-based communications with TeraWave, a revolutionary satellite communications network designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 Tbps anywhere on Earth. This multi-orbit constellation will consist of optically interconnected satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO) and medium Earth orbit (MEO), providing enterprise-grade connectivity for critical operations worldwide.
As part of the RF Payload Design team, you will be responsible for complex PCB designs and layouts with thousands of high‑ball‑count custom BGA devices with mmWave/RF/mixed‑signal interconnects. You will play a key role in conducting PCB stackup feasibility and trace routability studies to inform key payload architectural trades. Your responsibilities also include conducting PCB fabrication house design rule studies, leading the PCB OK2FAB process including DRC checks, design release, fabrication drawing preparation, assembly drawing, and so on.
