Job Schedule

9 / 80: Work 9 hours out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off.

Overview

Design PCBs that power advanced radio communication equipment trusted by the military and first responders. As a Principal PCB Layout Engineer, lead development of rigid, flex, and rigid-flex printed circuit boards, mentor junior designers, and shape design processes.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize Mentor PADS layout software to incorporate schematic, mechanical, and manufacturing inputs into new and revised HDI PCB designs.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional design teams to resolve fabrication, assembly, and test issues identified through NPI fabrication and manufacturing checks.
  • Create PCB stackups and model‑controlled impedance.
  • Develop highly complex PCB layouts leveraging design methodologies by board technology (RF, digital, analog, power supply, mixed technologies).
  • Perform peer reviews of complex PCB layout designs.
  • Create and maintain PCB layout design guidelines.
  • Lead assessment and implementation of new and upgraded PCB design software.
  • Develop and document best practices related to the PCB design process; create and update templates, checklists, and procedures.
  • Mentor less experienced PCB Designers.
  • Respond to supplier support requests related to specific PCB part numbers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree and minimum 7 years; or, in lieu of a degree, minimum 13 years of experience.
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Knowledge of the PCB design value chain (schematics, materials, fabrication, assembly, simulation tools).
  • Knowledge of PCB design elements (schematic, BOM, mechanical, fabrication, assembly, components, documentation).
  • Experience mentoring and onboarding less experienced PCB Designers.
  • Experience with peer reviews of PCB layout designs.
  • Experience evaluating and upgrading PCB design related software.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range in New York State: $94,000 – $174,000. Final offer may vary based on experience and location. Benefits include health and disability insurance, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, EAP, education assistance, parental leave, paid time off, and company‑paid holidays.
