Job summary

Lucix Corporation, a leader in RF active and passive units, seeks an experienced Senior PCB Designer to drive complex multilayer layouts for RF, mixed-signal, and power PCBs. You will own the design from placement through release and collaborate with RF and hardware engineers to ensure manufacturability.

Required 5+ years in PCB layout, OrCAD proficiency, and experience with high-frequency RF PCBs up to 31 GHz.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of PCB layout experience.
  • Experience with high frequency RF PCBs (up to 31 GHz).
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Experience with OrCAD PCB Designer.
  • Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-6012, IPC-2221, IPC-7351) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for PCB layout and design for power, analog, digital, and RF PCBs.
  • Create library parts and maintain CIS component database.
  • Execute multilayer PCB layouts for RF, mixed-signal, and power designs.
  • Place and route components with signal integrity considerations and manufacturability.
  • Generate fabrication and assembly documentation and ODB++ outputs using BluePrint.
  • Identify and mitigate layout risks prior to release and drive design feasibility.

Job description

Lucix Corporation, a subsidiary of HEICO's Electronic Technologies Group has steadily evolved to become the world leader in RF Active and Passive Units, Subsystems, and Assemblies, for Commercial, Civil and Defense Satellite Payloads. Lucix also provides RF hardware for Airborne and Ground Systems. All hardware is designed, qualified, manufactured, tested, and delivered from Lucix facilities in California, USA.

We are seeking an experienced Senior PCB Designer to join our team.This role is responsible for executing PCB designs that meet electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing requirements with a high degree of accuracy and completeness. You will work closely with RF and hardware engineers through iterative design cycles. Success in this role requires strong fundamentals, attention to detail, and ownership of your designs from initial placement through release.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for PCB layout and design for power, analog, digital, and RF printed circuit boards
  • Create library parts and maintain CIS component database
  • Execute multilayer PCB layouts for RF, mixed-signal, and power designs
  • Place and route components with consideration for signal integrity, return paths, grounding, and manufacturability
  • Implement controlled impedance routing based on defined stackups
  • Apply RF layout techniques including isolation, via stitching, and shielding strategies
  • Support stackup definition and routing feasibility analysis
  • Generate complete, release-ready fabrication and assembly documentation
  • Produce ODB++ manufacturing outputs using BluePrint
  • Identify and eliminate layout risks prior to release
  • Drive layout feasibility and resolve constraints early in design
  • Incorporate design review feedback efficiently and accurately
  • Work directly with engineers and PCB vendors to ensure designs meet intent and build requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace, or related field OR equivalent hands-on PCB layout experience
  • Experience with OrCAD PCB Designer
  • 5+ years of PCB layout experience
  • Experience designing high frequency (up to 31 GHz) RF PCBs
  • Demonstrated ownership of PCB layout process
  • Working knowledge of Multilayer PCB construction, controlled impedance fundamentals, and grounding / return path behavior
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work across disciplines
  • Familiarity with BluePrint and ODB++ generation preferred
  • Experience with EMC and EMI mitigation preferred
  • Knowledge of IPC standards (IPC-6012, IPC-2221, IPC-7351) preferred
