Job summary

RSM US LLP in California is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll Services practice. You will be an expert resource on payroll processing, client support, workflows and platforms, collaborating with teams to solve problems and deliver excellent service.

Requirements include 5+ years of multi-state or international payroll processing, ADP Workforce Now, and strong Excel plus communication. Travel up to 20%. CPP or FCP and Canadian/global payroll experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full cycle payroll processing in a multi-state or international environment
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now
  • Microsoft Office 365, Excel (including basic formulas and VLOOKUPs)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills with an emphasis on problem-solving
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • CPP or FCP certification is strongly preferred
  • Experience with Canadian payroll and Global payroll (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Processing weekly and biweekly full cycle, multi-state payroll for clients; deep understanding of payroll compliance and payroll tax laws
  • Reconcile and work on tax balancing per pay cycle, quarterly and annual filings
  • Year-end processing
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to clients and internal leaders
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in client organizations
  • Identify problems, data trends and root causes to offer solutions
  • Stay informed about changes in payroll regulations to ensure compliance
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of multiple payroll software products
  • Maintain confidentiality of client information; operate with multiple client levels
  • Assist with executive presentations and project forecasting
