Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools seeks a Senior Payroll Analyst to oversee payroll operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the Payroll Manager in closing monthly and annual books.

Requires an Associate degree in accounting and CPP certification with at least five years of payroll experience. Responsibilities include audits, tax reports, data analysis, and process improvements within the Finance department.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business or Public Administration; AND five (5) years of payroll experience.
• Knowledge of applicable state and federal payroll statutes and regulations.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Ensure federal and state payroll regulations are enforced and interpreted.
• Reconcile and balance payroll data for monthly close.
• Prepare quarterly and annual tax reports (941s and W-2s).
• Collaborate with Finance to improve payroll processes and systems.
