Job description

an experienced and highly skilled Senior Pavement Engineer to lead and manage our pavement engineering projects, with a particular focus on pavement management systems (PMS). The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in both empirical and mechanistic-empirical pavement design and will be responsible for overseeing pavement evaluations, preparing detailed technical reports, and guiding decision‑making processes through the development of deterioration models and fine‑tuning decision trees. In this role, you will conduct pavement evaluations, interpret test data, and use advanced pavement analysis tools. You will also collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external stakeholders to ensure high‑quality outcomes aligned with international standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Project Management: Lead and manage pavement engineering projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to quality, budget, and timelines.
  • Pavement Design: Develop both empirical and mechanistic‑empirical pavement designs for various pavement types and conditions, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and standards.
  • Pavement Management Systems (PMS): Utilize your expertise in PMS to develop, calibrate, and implement pavement deterioration models and decision trees.
  • Data Interpretation: Conduct and interpret data from destructive and non‑destructive testing methods such as FWD (Falling Weight Deflectometer), GPR (Ground Penetrating Radar), Friction Tester, and LCMS‑2. Provide training to junior engineers on equipment use and data interpretation.
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and bids that clearly outline project methodologies, results, and recommendations for clients.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize advanced pavement analysis software to support project development and analysis. Stay updated on new software advancements and implement them where appropriate.
  • Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs and recommendations comply with international standards such as FAA ACs, ICAO, GACA, Saudi ARAMCO, AASHTO, and DMRB.
  • Client Relations & Stakeholder Management: Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Provide technical advice and ensure client requirements are fully understood and met.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry developments and innovations in pavement engineering, and apply this knowledge to improve the companys services.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in pavement engineering, focusing on pavement management systems (PMS) and leadership roles.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in developing and calibrating deterioration models and fine‑tuning decision trees. Strong background in both empirical and mechanistic‑empirical pavement design. Solid experience in interpreting data from FWD, GPR, Friction Tester, and LCMS‑2. Familiarity with key industry standards (FAA ACs, ICAO, GACA, Saudi ARAMCO, AASHTO, DMRB).
  • Software Proficiency: Skilled in using popular pavement analysis software. Ability to interpret results from destructive and non‑destructive testing methods.
  • Reporting & Bid Preparation: Proven ability to prepare bids and write comprehensive technical reports.
  • Training Capabilities: Capable of providing training and guidance to junior engineers on data interpretation and the use of technical equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Professional Engineer (PE) license. MSCE (Master of Science in Civil Engineering), ME (Master of Engineering), or Ph.D. in a relevant field, preferably from the US, Europe, or UK.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in programming languages relevant to pavement design and analysis.
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial pavement design and evaluation software.
  • Flexibility & Collaboration: Willingness to travel to different company branches and work closely with other team leaders to drive project success.
