Job summary

Bayhealth is seeking a Patient Care Technician II to perform phlebotomy, ECG, and related clerical tasks. This role involves direct patient contact and training responsibilities, with a focus on safety and accuracy in a hospital setting.

The PCT II will support PCT I staff, handle data entry, specimen transport, and ensure adherence to policies while rotating across Bayhealth sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: Certificate Program High School Diploma or GED and related credentials.
• Phlebotomy and EKG/Medical Assistant training or equivalent.
• Experience: Bayhealth-employed PCT1 or equivalent in healthcare for 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Mentor PCT I/II staff, provide training, education and support.
• Perform phlebotomy, waived testing and ECG per policy with proper documentation.
• Enter patient data, order specimens, and ensure data accuracy and timeliness.
• Maintain safety, PPE use, and infection prevention per Bayhealth standards.
