The role involves receptionist, registration, and clerical duties to register patients for services. Responsibilities include meeting with patients, coordinating with providers, verifying benefits, handling payments, and ensuring accurate data in the system.

Qualifications

• Meets with patient and/or patient's caregiver to exchange necessary information and explain visit.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as necessary.
• Determines and accepts required payments, including co-pays and deductibles, or refers to financial counselors.
• Ensures demographic, billing, and clinical information are entered accurately in the registration system.
• Works in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with referring provider's office, clinical department(s), and/or other personnel to exchange information and determine schedule.
• Verifies insurance benefits and obtains pre-certification/authorization as necessary.

• Ensures demographic, billing, and clinical information is entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking and decisive judgement; able to work with minimal supervision.
