Job summary

BCG Attorney Search in Washington, DC seeks an experienced Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property and Technology Division. The successful candidate will draft and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications, provide patentability assessments, and assist with freedom to operate and due diligence assessments.

The role requires at least 5 years of patent experience, a degree in Electrical Engineering or similar, and U.S. Patent & Trademark Office registration.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience managing a patent prosecution docket.
• Ability to collaborate with partners and legal staff.
• Law firm or in-house IP experience preferred.
• Education in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
• USPTO registration is required.
• Strong writing, analytical and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational ability and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Draft and globally prosecute patent applications.
• Coordinate with foreign law firms for filing foreign patent applications.
• Maintain client patent portfolios and manage deadlines.
• Collaborate with clients on document processing and legalization.
• Review country requirements and obtain Foreign Filing Licenses.
• Delegate tasks effectively to paralegals and legal assistants.
