Job summary

Cherryville Baptist Church in Flemington, NJ is seeking a full-time Senior Pastor to lead the congregation, teach the Word, and provide spiritual guidance. The role includes preaching weekly, teaching Bible studies, leading prayer meetings, and officiating weddings and funerals with compassion and biblical integrity.

The Senior Pastor will shepherd the church through spiritual care, growth, and outreach, working with Deacons and other boards to fulfill the church’s mission.

Qualifications

• Seminary Degree Preferred. Must be skilled in preaching, teaching, counseling, and pastoral care.
• Must demonstrate a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ and meet biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership.
• Exhibit ability to engage with Bible Scripture and communicate its truths effectively.
• Heart for evangelism, discipleship, and fostering spiritual growth among congregants.

Responsibilities

• Preach and teach God’s Word to nurture faith and growth.
• Lead Bible studies and coordinate Christian education efforts with the boards.
• Interpret Scripture in ways that are biblically grounded and Christ-centered.
• Promote evangelism and local outreach within the church and community.
• Provide biblically grounded pastoral care, weddings, funerals, and counseling as needed.
