Job summary
Cherryville Baptist Church in Flemington, NJ seeks a full-time Senior Pastor to lead in preaching, teaching, and spiritual care, guiding the congregation in biblical truth and covenant.
Responsibilities include weekly sermons, Bible studies, weddings and funerals, visitation, and shepherding church boards; the pastor will foster evangelism, Christian education, and pastoral care within the faith community.
Qualifications
- Seminary degree required and pastoral leadership experience.
- Strong preaching, teaching, counseling, and care for congregations.
Responsibilities
- Preach and teach God’s Word; lead in prayerful preparation.
- Collaborate with boards to develop Christian education programs; support VBS and Bible studies.
- Interpret Scripture in biblically grounded and Christ-centered ways; teach sound doctrine.
- Promote local evangelism and mission support through church programs.
- Provide biblically grounded pastoral care: weddings, funerals, visits, and counseling.
- Foster church health and growth through welcoming ministry and teaching.
- Guide believers in spiritual growth via prayer, study, and retreats.
- Offer counseling to individuals, couples, and families seeking spiritual guidance.
