Taylorville Baptist Church in Tuscaloosa, AL, is seeking a Spirit-led Senior Pastor to faithfully shepherd, lead, teach, and love the congregation as it pursues making disciples and proclaiming the Gospel.

The pastor will cast vision, oversee ministries, and work with a ministry team to equip believers for mission, while upholding Southern Baptist doctrine and cooperating with the SBC.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate a genuine and growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to pastoral ministry.
• Meet the biblical qualifications for pastoral leadership outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:5–9.
• Be committed to the authority, sufficiency, and inerrancy of Scripture.
• Be ordained and in good standing within the Southern Baptist Convention.
• Demonstrate a commitment to Southern Baptist doctrine and cooperation.
• Possess strong preaching and teaching abilities.
• Be an effective and gracious communicator, both from the pulpit and in personal relationships.
• Be organized, dependable, and capable of effectively managing the responsibilities and priorities of pastoral ministry.
• Demonstrate a heart for shepherding, discipleship, evangelism, and missions.

Senior Pastor – Taylorville Baptist Church

Full-Time Position

Taylorville Baptist Church is a growing and thriving congregation of the Southern Baptist Convention located approximately six miles from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. We are seeking a Spirit‑led, biblically grounded Senior Pastor who will faithfully shepherd, lead, teach, and love the church while helping us fulfill our mission of making disciples and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Taylorville Baptist Church averages approximately 160–190 in Sunday morning worship and is blessed with a dedicated ministry team. Our staff currently includes two full‑time ministerial positions, an Associate Pastor of Youth and Education and a Children’s Director/Senior Adult Director, a part‑time Music Minister, and two support staff members, a Ministry Assistant and an Administrative Assistant.

Our church places a strong emphasis on discipleship and ministry to the next generation. On Wednesday evenings, we offer a variety of ministries, including a thriving AWANA program serving preschool through fifth grade and a growing, deeply connected Student Ministry that meets in the chapel adjacent to our gymnasium. We also offer an adult ministry that gathers each Wednesday evening for prayer, fellowship, and the opening of God’s Word. Our choir also meets to practice on Wednesday evenings.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s education, experience, and qualifications. A church-provided parsonage is available for the Senior Pastor. If desired, the parsonage may be included as part of the overall compensation package and offer.
