An established church community is seeking a Senior Pastor who is called by the Holy Spirit to lead and inspire. This role involves delivering impactful Biblical teachings, fostering relationships within the congregation, and guiding community outreach efforts. The ideal candidate will embody humility, integrity, and a heart for service, prioritizing God and family. As a leader, you will work closely with the church's Elder Board and Leadership Council, ensuring the church's mission is fulfilled while nurturing spiritual growth among members. If you are passionate about building a vibrant church life and making a difference in the community, this opportunity is for you.
The church was established in 1987 by a small group of dedicated Christians committed to seeking and worshiping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Since then, The Worship Center has experienced both significant growth and renewal. We are currently emerging from a period of revitalization, during which we have carefully reflected on our identity and beliefs. Being in this process has led us to not only begin the search for a Senior Pastor but also revise our church Constitution and By-Laws. We now have 52 voting members, most of whom are actively involved in church leadership and events. Our church activities are driven by a desire to deepen our relationship with Christ and with one another. Examples include:
Our church structure includes an Elder Board, Pastor, Deacons, Worship Team, Stewardship Team, and various other ministries. The active Leadership Council is made up of the Elders, Pastor, Deacons, Worship Leaders, Stewardship Team members, and leaders from other ministries. This council assists and advises the Elders in the major decisions for the church. Large budgetary deviations require a vote from the active membership of the church.
At the heart of our community is worship. We have a dynamic worship team supported by sound technicians and individuals who manage our visual and audio systems. Our services are also streamed live on our public Facebook page.
About the Senior Pastor:
The Worship Center is looking for a man called by the Holy Spirit to this church, who embodies 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9, to communicate the transformative Word of God to our congregation. This candidate should be able to deliver a text-driven exposition of the Scriptures, and be skilled at opening the Word of God effectively and fruitfully, to the congregation, individuals, and small groups.

What it’s Like to Live in Hebron, CT:
Welcome to Hebron, a small town of about 9,600 residents 20-25 minutes southeast of Hartford. Hebron had its beginnings as an agrarian community, which is still evident today in the dairy farms and maple syrup sugar houses throughout town. Statistically, Hebron is a predominantly white, English-speaking, middle-to upper-middle class community, along with a small percentage of individuals of African American, Hispanic and Asian descent. Although the majority of the town is middle class, about 5% of the roughly 3,600 households live in poverty. Roughly 62% of those 3,600 households are married families. Hebron also has town-sponsored senior housing and senior center, as well as an assisted living facility.
As a small town, Hebron has a lot to offer! There are multiple parks offering opportunities for outdoor activities including hiking, biking, picnics, and skiing. Main Street is a nice, walkable area with a number of popular businesses and community staples, including the library and a number of locally owned businesses. These locally owned businesses are the backbone of the town, and include a popular bakery and cafe, real estate agencies, a grocery store, and a number of restaurants. For those who enjoy playing golf, Blackledge Country Club and Tall Wood Country Club are both open to the public.
Hebron’s agrarian roots are highlighted twice a year, once at the Maple Festival in March and again at the Hebron Harvest Fair in September. During the Maple Fest, local sugar houses are open to the public, as well as a street fair, which includes vendors, food trucks, and more! The annual Hebron Harvest Fair is held at the Hebron Lions Club, about two miles up the road from our church. This 4-day event is arguably the biggest event in town. Drawing close to 125,000 visitors locally, as well as from across the state.
Hebron loves children! The town has two elementary schools, a Pre-K through 2nd grade school, and a 3rd -6th grade school. The middle school and high school students attend RHAM, a Regional School District that includes students from two neighboring towns, Andover and Marlborough. Children can choose to participate in a wide variety of both school-and town-offered sports, including football, lacrosse, soccer, and Little League. Hockey and ice-skating lessons are available a short distance away. Douglas Library on Main Street has a large children’s department and offers a number of year-round activities. The Recreation Department sponsors events for children and teens during school vacations and the summer.
Further afield, Hebron is not far from Hartford, where you can attend a variety of art events at the Bushnell Theater, cheer on the Hartford Wolf Pack ice hockey team at the XL Center, attend a Hartford Yard Goats minor league baseball game at Dunkin Park, or dine in one of the many diverse restaurants. Hebron is about 15 minutes from Willimantic, home to more great restaurants, featuring authentic Mexican and Hispanic foods, as well as Eastern Connecticut State University. It is 25-30 minutes from Storrs, home to the University of Connecticut. There, you can attend one of the games of our nationally ranked women’s and men’s basketball teams, hockey team, or football team. We are about a 45-minute drive to the CT shoreline, and, if you venture a bit further, to the beaches in Rhode Island.
