Job summary

Great Lakes Christian College seeks a biblically grounded preaching pastor to lead in dynamic preaching and pastoral care within a rural Minnesota church. The role centers on servant leadership, relational outreach, and collaboration with church elders to advance the congregation’s vision.

The successful candidate will have a long ministry runway, strong preaching gifts, and alignment with Restoration Movement principles, including weekly communion and believer’s baptism.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of full-time ministry, including preaching and staff leadership.
• Biblical Elder qualifications per 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
• Proven track record of building healthy teams and collaborating with elders.
• Restoration Movement affiliation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver dynamic and relevant biblical preaching and teaching of God's Word and prayer.
• Create an inviting atmosphere that fosters spiritual growth in Christ.
• Provide spiritual and pastoral care, including visitation and counseling.
• Perform baptisms, funerals, and weddings.
• Collaborate with elders to implement the church vision.
• Equip and train believers in team leadership and ministry.

• Oversee paid staff and volunteers.
• Maintain confidentiality in pastoral care and leadership.

We are prayerfully seeking a humble, biblically grounded preaching pastor with exsperience (senior pastor).

The Opportunity:

We are a long-standing, growing, rural southern Minnesota church with attendance over 100.

The Reason:

Our departing Pastor retired early October 2026. Our Elder Team and guest speakers are preaching during the transition until a Pastor is hired.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver dynamic and relevant biblical preaching and teaching of God's Word and prayer
• Create an exciting and inviting atmosphere that encourages spiritual growth in Christ
• Provide spiritual and pastoral care (i.e., visitation ministry and/or counseling)
• Perform baptisms, funerals, and weddings
• Collaborate with elders to implement the vision of the church
• Equip and train believers in team leadership and ministry
• Engage in community activities
• Oversee paid staff and volunteers
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters of pastoral care and leadership

Who We're Looking For:

We are seeking a biblically grounded, preaching pastor and leader who models the heart of a servant-leader one who is humble, highly relational, and emotionally intelligent.

Theological Alignment:

Rooted in the Restoration Movement and currently serving in a similar church context, aligned with our views that Scripture is the word of God, and we practice weekly communion and believers baptism.

Experience:

10+ years of full-time ministry experience, including preaching and staff leadership, with a long runway of ministry ahead of you.

Character:

Meets the biblical qualifications of an Elder outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus1.

Leadership:

A proven track record of building healthy teams, collaborating with elders, and catalyzing evangelisticoutreach.

Education:

Bible college and/or seminary education is required (Restoration Movement affiliationpreferred).
