Job summary

Hawai`i State Judiciary seeks a Paralegal Assistant II to support attorneys and judges with complex paralegal tasks. The role includes legal research, drafting and checking documents and forms, and assisting in various related duties as assigned.

Four years of general paralegal experience and one year of specialized experience are required. Substitutions by accredited programs may apply as listed in the posting, with transcripts provided if education is used.

Qualifications

Four years of progressively responsible paralegal work experience with knowledge of legal terminology and forms.
One year of progressively responsible paralegal work experience with knowledge of the court system, legal analysis and research.
Education may substitute for experience: Legal Secretary curriculum for one year; Paralegal/Legal Assistant training (60 credits) for four years; School of Law for all required experience.

Responsibilities

Performs difficult and complex paralegal work in support of attorneys or judges involving legal research, drafting and checking documents and forms, and assisting in various other areas as assigned.
Performs other related duties as required.
