Job summary

CGS Federal is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to provide professional litigation support for a large Federal agency initiative in San Antonio, TX. The role involves assisting AUSAs with witness interviews, drafting pleadings, and managing case files and exhibits.

Qualifications include a two-year degree in Paralegal Studies or related field, a Paralegal Certificate (or equivalent), and at least three years of legal support experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Two-year degree or equivalent with Paralegal Certificate required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of legal support experience (drafting pleadings, motions, orders).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for background investigation.

  • Assist AUSAs in witness interviews and prepare interview records for deposition.
  • Review title commitments and create deed history summaries.
  • Prepare Declarations of Taking Reports, Amended Declarations of Taking Reports, Complaints, and related motions.
  • Summarize depositions and manage case files, exhibits, and materials for trial.

CGS is seeking an experienced Senior Paralegal to provide professional litigation support for a large Federal agency initiative.

Responsibilities
  • Assist AUSAs in conducting witness interviews and preparing a record of the interviews for use at deposition. Employees shall identify themselves as a contractor during phone and face‑to‑face interviews.
  • Review title commitments for accuracy and create deed history summaries.
  • Prepare Declarations of Taking Reports, Amended Declarations of Taking (ADT) Reports, Complaints, Notices Joint Motions to Close, and Motions to Suppress, summarize depositions and other transcripts, maintain case files, and control exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial for assigned cases.
  • Document landowner complaints and responses in a monthly report. Support and assist attorneys in the courtroom by preparing exhibit cross‑references and screening documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria.
  • Identify types of record‑keeping systems and types of records maintained that would be relevant. Gather, sort, and interpret data from various record systems including computer information systems.
  • Develop statistics and tabulations, such as standard deviations, regression analyses, and weighting, to provide leads and supportive data for case litigation. Prepare charts, graphs, and tables to illustrate results. Analyze data, develop recommendations and justifications for the attorney(s) who will take the matter to court.
  • Design and develop systems and procedures for tracking, controlling, and managing case files, exhibits, and other case‑specific materials.
  • Other related duties as assigned and within scope.
Qualifications
  • Two‑year degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, Criminal Justice, Business/Business Administration/Finance, English/Journalism, or other related field; or high school diploma/equivalent and Paralegal Certificate.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in providing legal support, such as independently drafting correspondence, pleadings, motions, and proposed orders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain adjudication for the requisite background investigation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Legal experience in real estate, mineral interests, and oil and gas matters.
