Job summary

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, Packaging and Product Sustainability to join our Sustainable Products and Supply Chain team in the United States. Proximity to an ERM office is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in packaging, environmental science, sustainability, engineering, chemistry, materials science, biology, business, supply chain, or related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in sustainable packaging, product sustainability, circular economy, or related areas.
• Consulting experience is required.
• Open to more senior candidates.
• Demonstrated success leading complex projects and managing scope, schedule, and budgets.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials and regulatory considerations.
• Ability to translate complex data into practical business recommendations.
• Excellent client-facing, relationship-building, problem-solving, facilitation, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium to large, multidisciplinary projects in packaging and product sustainability.
• Translate commitments and regulatory requirements into actionable strategies.
• Advise on packaging optimization, reusable systems, materials selection, and life-cycle approaches.
• Evaluate tradeoffs and present clear business-focused recommendations.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, teams, and client relationships.
• Build relationships with senior stakeholders across functions.
• Mentor junior consultants and contribute to a collaborative team.
• Advance ERM methodologies and market offerings.
