Job summary

Katalyst-Healthcares is seeking a Packaging Engineer to provide technical leadership in the design, development, testing and scale-up of packaging components and systems. You will collaborate with R&D, marketing, supply chain and quality to deliver robust packaging for the market.

The role may manage a small team of engineers and contractors, driving technical projects, regulatory compliance, and cost-improvement initiatives in a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Packaging Sciences or a related field is required.
• Minimum of 6 years of industry experience, with at least 3 years in package development and packaging equipment.
• Experience in Consumer, OTC, or Pharmaceutical industry is required; GMP experience preferred.
• Experience in a highly regulated environment is required.
• Advanced, technical knowledge related to package materials, packaging equipment, testing and package development is required.
• Previous experience overseeing complex projects in a matrixed environment is required.
• Physical demands: office deskwork, sitting, walking, with occasional lifting up to 30 lbs; up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute package engineering assignments for large life cycle management initiatives.
• Manage life cycle aspects of packaging materials and structures aligning product, equipment, Marketing and Supply Chain needs.
• Develop and approve documentation for package development (specs, assessments, protocols, reports).
• Lead complex packaging projects on compliance, cost saving, or innovation initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and coordinate assignments; drive testing to ensure package integrity.
