Job summary

Kdc/one Groveport in Groveport, OH is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Engineer to lead continuous improvement across filing and packaging operations. You will drive OEE improvements, lead capital equipment projects, and mentor a growing engineering team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 7+ years in manufacturing, and strong knowledge of FDA cGMP and OSHA requirements. Onsite at Groveport with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience; Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.
• 7+ years of production/manufacturing experience, preferably in an FDA-regulated environment.
• Experience with high-speed filling and packaging equipment.
• Proven success improving OEE, throughput, reliability, and equipment performance.
• Lean manufacturing and hands-on continuous improvement experience.
• Experience managing capital projects up to $25M.
• Experience with equipment selection, FATs, installation, qualification, and validation.
• Ability to read P&IDs, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Working knowledge of FDA cGMP and OSHA requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and project costing.

Responsibilities

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across filing and packaging operations.

• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, suppliers, customers, and other engineering teams to solve problems.
• Provide technical expertise during line trials and customer interactions.
• Mentor engineers and team members in Engineering & Maintenance.
• Develop training materials and support training for operators, mechanics, and line leads.
• Support cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and HSE initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives.
• Partner with operations, maintenance, suppliers, customers, and other engineering teams to solve complex problems.
• Provide technical expertise during line trials and customer interactions.
• Mentor engineers and members of the Engineering & Maintenance organization.
• Develop training materials and support training for operators, mechanics, and line leads.
• Support cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and Health, Safety & Environmental initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience — Mechanical or Industrial Engineering required.
• 7+ years of production/manufacturing experience, preferably in an FDA-regulated environment.
• Strong experience with high-speed filling and packaging equipment.
• Proven success improving OEE, throughput, reliability, and equipment performance.
• Solid Lean Manufacturing and hands-on continuous improvement experience.
• Experience managing capital projects, including projects up to $25M.
• Experience with equipment selection, FATs, installation, qualification, and validation.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, communication, and leadership skills.
• Working knowledge of FDA cGMP and OSHA requirements.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience with project/product costing.

Bonus points

Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt and PMP/CPM certification.
