Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. in Covington, GA is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer to manage and lead packaging activities for NPD and Sustain Engineering.

You will oversee materials, process, design, equipment, and validation, while exploring cost savings opportunities. The role requires hands-on design of packaging concepts, leading packaging equipment, and collaboration with vendors and customers to meet specifications.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to design innovative packaging/mechanisms.
• 5-7 years experience in packaging engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualization of initial design options, execution of design, and modifications of packaging design.
• Leads the appropriate packaging equipment to meet packaging design and material requirements.
• Converts customer needs into new product concept solutions.
• Develops prototypes of concepts and subcomponent mechanisms.
• Designs and develops tooling and fixturing required to support new products and line extensions.
• Utilizes design concepts and analysis techniques (FMEA, FEA modeling, GD&T, SPC, tolerancing, stress/strain).
• Manage vendors and customers to identify materials and components to meet packaging requirements.
• Analyzes concepts to ensure specifications meet customer requirements.
• Detail designs for manufacturability with proper dimensions and tolerances; recommend modifications.
• Maintains documentation per policies and regulatory compliance.
• Lead/participate in NPD teams and design reviews.

Job Description

• Conceptualization of initial design options, execution of design, and modifications of packaging design.
• Leads the appropriate packaging equipment to meet packaging design and material requirements.
• Converts customer needs into new product concept solutions.
• Develops prototypes of concepts and subcomponent mechanisms.
• Designs and develops tooling and fixturing required to support new products and line extensions.
• Utilizes design concepts and analysis techniques, including but not limited to:
• Failure Mode Analysis
• Finite Element Analysis & modeling
• Geometric Dimensioning/
• Statistical Analysis
• Tolerancing Analysis
• Stress/Strain Analysis
• Manage vendors and customers to identify appropriate materials and components to meet packaging requirements.
• Analyzes concepts to ensure that the specifications (Product Performance Specifications) meet the customers’ requirement.
• Ability to detail designs to ensure manufacturability; proper dimensioning and tolerances stack-up analysis. Recommends modifications as required.
• Establishes and maintains appropriate documentation of activities in accordance with existing policies and procedures (Divisions, Corporate, and Regulatory compliance)
• Actively participate/lead New Product Development teams and Design Reviews.

Basic Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to design innovative packaging/mechanisms
• Proficient in the use of a personal computer with intermediate keyboarding skills and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Microsoft Project, and various statistical software packages.

Education And Qualifications

• BS in Packaging Engineering or related field of study preferred
• 5-7 years experience or based upon background/experience
• Medical device and/or pharmaceutical experience a plus
• Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
