Job summary

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources' Parks, Forests, and Preserves Bureau seeks a strategic leader to expand public access by managing a centralized recreational grants portfolio totaling about $20 million annually. You will serve as the primary SME and liaison for LWCF, ORLP, Saving America’s Treasures, REPI, OHV, and Snowmobile programs, guiding policy, compliance, and local partnerships.

Qualifications

• Seven years of full-time work experience in the administration or operation/execution of a program (provision of a service or an administrative oversight/enforcement responsibility).
• One year of full-time work experience in the administration or operation/execution of a program; and
• A total of four years of education and full-time experience; and
• A total of two years of graduate-level education and full-time experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and administer grant programs and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Provide policy analysis, fiscal notes, and legislative liaison support.
• Lead stakeholder engagement with municipalities, agencies, and partner organizations.
• Oversee grant review, selection, and funding allocations across statewide programs.
