Job summary

The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) seeks a Senior Surgical Technologist to assist in preparation, processing, and maintenance of instruments and equipment and participate in operative procedures as part of the surgical team.

Under supervision, you will support OR nursing care, collaborate with nurses, surgeons, and perioperative staff, and ensure safe, efficient patient care. Orthopedic scrub experience and exemplary customer service are required.

Qualifications

• Two years orthopedic experience as a Surgical Technologist in an ambulatory setting.
• Active American Heart Association CPR Certification.
• High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Ability to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, processing, care, and maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment for operative procedures.
• Participate in operative procedures as part of the surgical team under supervision.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and peri-operative staff to facilitate safe, expeditious patient care.
• Demonstrate competence in duties required by the job description.
