Job summary

Envista's Ormco division seeks a Staff R&D Materials Chemist Engineer to create new materials and products for orthodontics. You will interact with R&D, Operations, QA, Regulatory, and Procurement to advance projects from concept to qualification.

Responsibilities include developing adhesive formulations, performing tests, leading projects, mentoring staff, and preparing technical reports while ensuring compliance and process improvements.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in a relevant field with required experience.
• Proficient in statistical analysis using Minitab or similar.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Define, develop and test new adhesive formulations based on glass/resin composites.
• Prepare solutions, compounds, and reagents used in chemical labs.
• Conduct experiments with minimal supervision and plan daily work.
• Lead medium to large technology projects and mentor junior staff.
• Develop engineering documents and DOE study plans.
• Collaborate with R&D, Procurement, and Manufacturing to qualify materials.
