Job summary

AEM Corporation in Washington, DC is seeking a senior Oracle DBA to manage and optimize large-scale Oracle databases in a security-cleared environment. The role requires hands-on experience with PL/SQL, scripting, and database design, and a proven track record in OLTP/OLAP performance tuning.

Candidates must meet the basic qualifications including an eligible work status in the U.S., active Secret clearance, Oracle certifications, and experience with migration tools like GoldenGate or cloud

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years serving as a System Oracle DBA with a Bachelor's Degree or 12+ years with an Oracle Database Certification (Oracle Certified Associate or Oracle Certified Professional).
• Experience creating shell and SQL scripts for maintaining the environment.
• Experience writing advanced PL/SQL in support of ETL.
• Experience performing database design activities.
• Proven success in performance optimization for OLTP and OLAP applications.
• Analytic ability to make forward thinking database architecture recommendations.
• Extensive implementation skills covering a wide range of Oracle database solutions.
• Experience with Oracle migration options.
• Experience with configuring database security.
• Experience with advanced diagnostics in troubleshooting issues.
• Ability to work effectively in a strong team-oriented environment.
• Ability to prioritize requests from multiple projects and support requirements.
• Self-motivated; taking ownership of projects and issues, including follow through to closure and resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to details.
• Strong focus on internal and external customer requirements.

Basic qualifications/experience

• College Degree (BS, BA, or AAS) in Computer Science or Information Technology related field. Experience may be substituted.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. for any employer.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• CompTIA Security+ Certification — must be able to achieve certification within 90 days of hire date.
• Oracle Certified Associate (OCA).

Desired skills/certifications

• Proficient in data migration and replication tools and methodology.
• Experience working with GoldenGate.
• Experience working with Azure and/or cloud migrations.
• Experience working with advanced technologies to include: Real Application Clusters, Data Guard, Transparent Data Encryption, Oracle Exadata, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Oracle Data Integrator.
• Hardening environments in compliance with DISA's Security Technical Implementation Guide.
• Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) is a plus.
• CompTIA Security+ is a plus.
