General Dynamics – Bath Iron Works is seeking an Oracle Database Administrator to support, maintain, and optimize a complex enterprise database environment. The role emphasizes reliability, performance, and collaboration with infrastructure, data engineering, and business teams across development, test, and production.

The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of Oracle DBA experience, strong Linux/Unix and scripting skills, and familiarity with RMAN, ASM, and enterprise management best

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience in production environments.
• Expertise with Oracle versions 12c and 19c.
• Strong Linux/Unix and shell scripting skills.
• Proficiency with RMAN, ASM, OEM/Cloud Control.
• Strong database performance optimization and tuning skills.
• Understanding of Oracle enterprise management best practices.
• Experience with backup strategies and disaster recovery planning.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and support Oracle databases across development, test, and production environments.
• Perform installation, configuration, patching, cloning, backup, and recovery using RMAN and related tools.
• Monitor database performance and execute tuning activities.
• Implement and maintain high availability solutions including RAC and ASM.
• Manage database security, user access, roles, and compliance with company standards.
• Design and implement backup/restore strategies and lead disaster recovery planning.
• Support schema design, data modeling, and SQL code reviews.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and architectural diagrams.
• Participate in on‑call rotations and support critical incidents.
