Job description

NVIDIA’s invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing — with the GPU acting as the brain of computers, robots, and self-driving cars that can perceive and understand the world. Today, we are increasingly known as “the AI computing company.” We're looking to grow our company and build our teams with the smartest people in the world. Join us at the forefront of technological advancement.

We’re looking for a Senior Optical Mixed Signal Design Validation Engineer to drive development of test methodologies, analysis, and debugging of NVIDIA's electro-optical transceiver modules.

What you'll be doing:

  1. Develop validation test methods for new photonic designs from the Mixed-Signal Design group
  2. Interact with multi-functional groups to support chip validation and ramp to production
  3. Characterize fundamental optical, electro-optical, and RF performance of new chip designs
  4. Validate, debug, and characterize new analog, photonic, electrical-optical, and mixed-signal designs
  5. Provide feedback to designers on silicon performance, design quality, and margins
  6. Verify electrical-optical compliance to industry standards
  7. Train new engineers in validation practices

What we need to see:

  1. Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  2. Deep understanding of fundamental optical components and analog circuits
  3. RF testing experience at die or module level
  4. 5+ years of experience measuring, analyzing, and debugging complex mixed-signal designs
  5. Experience with Python, Git, Matlab, or JMP
  6. Ability to code scripts for validation, debug, data analysis, and automation
  7. Extremely responsive to time sensitive show-stopping issues
  8. Consistent, persistent, and efficient
  9. Ability to work in a team environment
  10. Detailed knowledge of optical lab equipment

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  1. Optical transceiver performance testing at high data rates
  2. Experience with control loops
  3. Working knowledge of wafer probe test systems and wafer handling
