The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience with optical, opto-mechanical and laser systems, U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in optics or related field.
• 8+ years of experience with optical, opto-mechanical and laser systems.
• U.S. Person required (citizen/permanent resident/green card).
• U.S. Government security requirement restricts PRC/Russia nationals unless U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a team of laser scientists and optical engineers supporting quantum computing systems.
• Provide expertise to maximize performance and robustness of laser/optical projects.
• Mentor technicians and oversee day-to-day activities.
• Integrate high-precision optical sub-assemblies into systems and maintain them.
• Gather requirements and translate into action plans meeting specifications.
• Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on electro-optical-mechanical systems.
• Analyze data to improve subsystem robustness and key performance parameters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver state-of-the-art optics solutions.
• Develop tooling and test fixtures to improve alignment and characterization.
