Job summary

Skydio, the leading US drone company, seeks a Senior Operations Systems Engineer to build world-class manufacturing and operations systems for scaling US facilities. You will drive Palantir Foundry integrations, optimize material flow, and align with supply chain and production teams to improve productivity and profitability.

The role requires hands-on skills in SQL, Python, Java, and Palantir, with a focus on scalable data architectures and MES/MRP/PLM knowledge.

Qualifications

• Experience as an implementation lead for Palantir Foundry or similar products.
• Working level knowledge of SQL, Python, and Java to support building and reviewing customized applications and data pipelines.
• Deep knowledge of operations and manufacturing systems and processes, including MES, MRP and PLM.
• Deep understanding of data structures and building scalable data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production, supply chain, quality, planning, and engineering to assess problems and needs.
• Conduct make vs buy decisions to meet company needs.
• Manage 3P implementation projects with stakeholders and vendors to ensure on-time delivery.
• Develop and implement applications/tools within Palantir to optimize material flow, ECOs, production scheduling, factory execution, and quality.
• Integrate new data sources while maintaining the Palantir ontology.
• Lead regular project meetings and report status, milestones, and risks to stakeholders.
• Provide feedback for continuous improvement across systems.

About The Role

Skydio is seeking a Senior Operations Systems Engineer to help build out world class operations and manufacturing systems to support our scaling US manufacturing facilities. This will include evaluating make vs buy evaluations for applications, and being capable of integrating 3P applications or developing bespoke Palantir applications that will enable best in class systems integrations, automation, and AI insights and allow our operations to continue our rapid scaling. This implementation will build on the foundation of our existing systems including NetSuite, Arena, Jira, and our home‑grown MES. You will partner closely with peers on the business systems team and cross‑functional stakeholders including the supply chain and in‑house production teams to understand their pain points and leverage your expertise in best practices to develop solutions that drive productivity, scalability, and profitability.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders including production, supply chain, quality, planning, and engineering to conduct thorough problems and needs assessments
• Conduct make vs buy decisions to best meet the company's needs
• Manage 3P implementation projects by driving stakeholder engagement, defining project requirements, setting development milestones, and holding our development partners accountable for on-time deliverables
• Develop and implement applications and tools within Palantir's product suite to optimize material flow, ECOs, production scheduling, factory execution, and quality
• Help integrate new data sources while maintaining the Palantir ontology
• Conduct regular meetings and generate reports on project status, highlighting achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones to ensure all stakeholders are well-informed
• Solicit and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement across systems

What Makes You a Good Fit

• Experience as an implementation lead for Palantir Foundry or similar products
• Working level knowledge of SQL, Python, and Java to support building and reviewing customized applications and data pipelines
• Have deep knowledge of operations and manufacturing systems and processes, including MES, MRP and PLM
• Deep understanding of best practices for defining data structures and building data pipelines to support long term, scalable applications
• Deep understanding of hardware and manufacturing business processes

• Ability to identify and address challenges proactively
• Obtaining FAA Part 107 certification within the first 60 days of employment is strongly encouraged for all Skydio employees and required for certain positions

Compensation: At Skydio, our compensation packages for full-time employees include competitive base salaries, equity in the form of stock options, comprehensive benefits, and various incentives and stipends. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. Relocation assistance may also be provided for eligible roles. The annual base salary range for this position is $145,000 - $219,000*.
