Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Tewksbury, MA is seeking a Senior Manager, Operations to lead all production operations for TCG products. Responsibilities

  • As a member of the leadership team, contribute to the operational direction for TCG.
  • Oversee assembly, test, supply chain, and quality; liaison to program management for production strategy.
  • Develop and drive production action plans to meet productivity and quality goals.
  • Prepare master production schedules, material planning, and production sequencing.
  • Maintain and archive production build and quality records for shipped products.
  • Collaborate with Engineering to identify and resolve problems.
  • Translate customer requirements into efficient operations and processes.
  • Coordinate with supply chain on supplier qualification and non-conformances.
  • Provide regular scheduling, forecasts, and reporting to Senior Leadership.
  • Direct and coach frontline managers and staff for increased responsibility.
  • Manage a 16-person team; oversee onboarding and ongoing training.
  • Drive continuous improvement and risk mitigation throughout operations.
  • Ensure outbound logistics comply with regulatory oversight and requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Senior Manager, Operations


This position is an experienced operations leader who must be able to drive TCG’s operations strategy by managing all aspects of our business and production operations. This includes overseeing and leading the production of all TCG products, production quality control, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and field service operations functions. In this role, you will be ultimately responsible for the smooth operation of all production lines and quality of output. As our Senior Manager, Operations, you will work closely with our leadership team, including our General Manager, Director, Program Management, Manager, Engineering, and others.

Salary Range: $144,100 - $208,100 USD per year plus bonus

Your Challenge:



  • As a member of the TCG Leadership team, contribute to the operational direction for TCG


  • Oversee and manage assembly and test, supply chain, and quality activities; serve as primary liaison to program management for development and execution of the production strategy


  • Develop and drive production action plans and resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction goals and objectives


  • Prepare and review all manufacturing Basis of Estimate justifications, create master production schedules, and coordinate material planning and production scheduling to include all aspects of producing product through delivery


  • Responsible for ensuring archiving and maintenance of all production build and quality records for each product shipped


  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Operations team, including development engineering, on problem identification and resolution


  • Translate customer requirements into operations strategies and processes designed to improve cost-effectiveness and profitability


  • Coordinate with supply chain on supplier qualification and supplier material non-conformance resolution


  • Provide regular reports to Senior Leadership team including scheduling, forecasts, and more


  • Provide direction, coaching, and day-to-day leadership to frontline managers and other production personnel; grow, develop, and guide high potential staff members for increased responsibility


  • Serve as functional manager to a team of 16 employees; responsible for new staff introductory training and ongoing training for all staff as appropriate


  • Drive continuous improvement through mitigating risks and realizing opportunities


  • Ensure all outbound logistical transitions comply with appropriate regulatory oversight agency


  • Maintain compliance status with regulatory requirements


  • Other duties as assigned



Your Expertise:



  • At least 10 years of progressively responsible manufacturing operations experience


  • Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement


  • Experience with continuous improvement techniques (Six Sigma, Kaizen, LEAN) strongly desired


  • Prior manufacturing experience of defense related electronics is strongly desired


  • Proven team leadership skills, including the ability to grow, motivate, and educate staff


  • Proven experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems with limited resources in a timely manner


  • Proven experience driving continuous improvement through mitigating risks and realizing opportunities


  • Proposal creation and labor estimating experience


  • Experience working diverse contract types, including CPFF, CPIF, FFP, etc. strongly desired


  • Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigation activities


  • Experience using or supporting a Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) system


  • Experience with SAP is preferred


  • Familiarity with finance reporting is preferred


  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task in a small team environment


  • Accuracy, attention to detail, and quality orientation is a must


  • Must be able to communicate and coordinate effectively with other departments including purchasing, engineering, field service operations, and administration.


  • Strong written and verbal communication skills


  • Must be able to self-organize workloads and manage all deadlines
