Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions in Massachusetts seeks a Senior Manager, Operations to lead all production, quality, and supply chain functions across the site in Tewksbury. You will partner with the GM, Director, and Engineering to develop and execute the production strategy and ensure on-time delivery of complex defense electronics.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years of progressively responsible manufacturing operations experience.
• Experience with cost, schedule, project leadership, and/or process improvement.
• Experience with continuous improvement techniques (Six Sigma, Kaizen, LEAN) strongly desired.
• Prior manufacturing experience of defense related electronics is strongly desired.
• Proven team leadership skills, including the ability to grow, motivate, and educate staff.
• Proven experience acting as a liaison between multiple disciplines to solve complex problems with limited resources in a timely manner.
• Proven experience driving continuous improvement through mitigating risks and realizing opportunities.
• Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigation activities.
• Experience using or supporting a Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP) system.
• Experience with SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage assembly and test, supply chain, and quality activities.
• Serve as primary liaison to program management for development and execution of the production strategy.
• Develop and drive production action plans to meet productivity, quality, and stakeholder goals.
• Prepare and review manufacturing Basis of Estimate; create master production schedules.
• Coordinate material planning and production scheduling through delivery.
• Archive and maintain production build and quality records for each product shipped.
• Collaborate with Operations and development engineering on problem resolution.
• Translate customer requirements into operations strategies to improve cost-effectiveness.
• Coordinate with supply chain on supplier qualification and non-conformance resolution.
• Provide regular reports to Senior Leadership including scheduling and forecasts.
• Coach and develop frontline managers; grow staff for increased responsibility.
• Lead a team of 16; onboarding and ongoing training.
• Drive continuous improvement and mitigate risks.
• Ensure outbound logistics comply with regulatory oversight.
