Job description

The Senior Operations Analyst provides advanced analytical and decision support across Plexus’ global logistics and distribution network. This role turns complex operational and financial data into clear insights that improve cost, service, inventory, capacity, and network performance.

You will analyze performance across transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, inventory, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers while building the reporting, forecasts, financial models, and business cases leaders use to make decisions.

This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, challenging assumptions, and translating data into measurable business results.

Employee Value Proposition

This is an opportunity to help build and shape the analytical capability supporting Plexus’ global logistics and distribution organization.

You will have meaningful ownership of the reporting, forecasting, financial models, and decision-support tools used to manage a multi-country distribution network, significant freight and fulfillment spend, and multiple 3PL relationships.

With direct exposure to senior leadership and partnerships across Distribution, Inventory, Buyers, Finance, Technology, and external providers, you will have the autonomy to modernize how we use data, influence major operational and financial decisions, and demonstrate measurable impact on cost, service, and future growth.

Key Performance Objectives

  • Establish the Operational Baseline: Within the first 90 days, develop a reliable view of logistics and distribution costs, service performance, inventory trends, capacity requirements, and critical data-quality gaps.
  • Create Consistent Performance Measurement: Establish standardized KPIs and reporting across inventory, transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, and 3PL operations, including documented definitions, calculations, and data sources.
  • Elevate Executive Decision Support: Build an executive reporting cadence that clearly identifies material variances, operational risks, root causes, recommended actions, and accountable owners.
  • Improve Cost Visibility: Develop cost-to-serve and unit-cost models across transportation, warehousing, fulfillment, storage, and inventory to improve financial decision-making.
  • Drive Measurable Optimization: Identify, prioritize, and quantify cost-saving and service-improvement opportunities and establish a process for validating realized results.
  • Strengthen Forecasting and Capacity Planning: Translate sales and demand plans into volume, shipment, storage, and capacity forecasts while measuring and continuously improving forecast accuracy.
  • Support Strategic Network Decisions: Develop financial models, business cases, and scenario analyses supporting 3PL negotiations, RFPs, budgeting, network decisions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Modernize Reporting and Analytics: Improve the accuracy and efficiency of recurring analysis by reconciling data across NetSuite, WMS, 3PL, carrier, and financial systems and automating high-value manual reporting.
  • Become a Trusted Analytical Partner: Provide Global Logistics & Distribution leadership with timely, clear, and actionable recommendations that influence operational and financial results.
