Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Senior OpenShift DevOps Engineer for a long-term contract across Charlotte, NC, Chandler, AZ, or Irving, TX. The role focuses on operating reliability and governance of Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms in a hybrid setup.

You will guide incident readiness, automate operations, and implement scalable stability initiatives while coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet compliance and performance goals.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Systems Operations, Cloud Operations, SRE, or related operational roles.
• 4+ years in Kubernetes/OpenShift platform operations.
• 2+ years Linux systems operations experience.
• Experience in operational teams or platform operations functions.
• Strong record of operational automation and incident management.

Responsibilities

• Own the operational health, lifecycle, and governance of Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms; drive standards and readiness.
• Incident Management: support major incidents, coordinate cross-team response, ensure timely restoration and RCA actions.
• Reliability & stability improvements: increase resilience, reduce incidents, improve automation maturity.
• Operational automation & toil reduction: direct automation strategy for run operations via scripts, GitOps, or self-service workflows.
• OpenShift platform readiness: lifecycle activities, builds, configuration, upgrades, and decommissioning.
• Cross-team enablement: support engineering, security, and development teams to adopt consistent patterns.
• Compliance & controls: ensure regulatory, security, and audit requirements are met; document hygiene.
