Job summary

Turner Mining Group is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Engineer - Long Range to develop, maintain, and optimize Life of Mine (LOM) plans for a large open-pit operation in northeastern Nevada. The role entails long-term strategic mine planning, economic optimization, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams to maximize value while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum of 5 years of surface mining engineering experience preferred.
Strong understanding of open-pit mine planning principles and practices.
Experience with mine planning software such as MineSight, Deswik, Vulcan, or Studio NPVS.
Advanced Excel proficiency and excellent written/verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimize Life of Mine (LOM) plans for open-pit operations.
Perform pit optimizations, inventory support, fleet sizing studies, and technical evaluations.
Design open pits, waste rock storage, haul roads, and drainage systems.
Validate block models using drill data; scripting experience preferred.
Integrate short-range plans into long-range schedules and economic evaluations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure sound long-range plans.
Promote safety culture and continuous improvement in planning processes.
