Job summary

Tractor Supply Co. in King George/Dahlgren, Virginia, seeks a Senior Ontology Engineer to design, develop, and maintain ontological frameworks and knowledge graph solutions in support of defense mission engineering programs.

Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET DoD Clearance is required. You will work with software and systems engineers, plus domain SMEs, translating complex requirements into scalable knowledge representations and knowledge architectures.

Qualifications

• Hands-on knowledge graph technologies including RDF, SPARQL, SHACL, OWL.
• Experience with ontology management and knowledge graph curation.
• End-to-end knowledge graph and AI data pipelines with LLMs.
• Familiarity with Stardog, Blazegraph, Neo4j, or Neptune.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET DoD Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain formal ontologies using OWL/RDF/SPARQL.
• Build knowledge graph solutions across multi-domain defense systems.
• Extend upper-level ontology frameworks aligning with DoD data standards.
• Design graph-based AI solutions including LLM pipelines and RAG.
• Collaborate with engineers and SMEs to translate requirements into ontologies.
• Support semantic integration across legacy and modern architectures.
