Job summary

System One in Annapolis, MD seeks a Network & Systems Administrator to join a 24/7/365 operations team. You will support highly available communications infrastructure, serve as senior escalation point, and ensure performance, reliability, and security of networking and IT systems.

The role emphasizes on-call rotations, design and deployment of secure networks, cloud-hosted environments, and continual improvement through documentation, audits, and mentorship of junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or telecom.
• JNCIP certification for Routing & Switching.
• RHCE and Red Hat Security certs.
• 3+ years senior sys/net admin in 24/7 operations.
• Experience in ISP/carrier-grade networks.
• Virtualized Linux servers on-prem/cloud.

Responsibilities

• Provide L3 support through 24/7 service desk with on-call rotations.
• Monitor IT systems, networks, and cloud infra; remediate issues.
• Design, deploy, and maintain IT networks (cloud-hosted incl.).
• Ensure security/compliance; plan upgrades and hardening.
• Manage user accounts, access controls, licenses.
• Audit IT systems; maintain asset register.
• Document policies and configurations; share knowledge.
