Job summary

A general contractor is seeking a Project Manager in Virginia. Candidates must have at least 5 years of commercial construction experience and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. Responsibilities include managing a project team, cost control, and ensuring project completion. The role requires strong communication skills and a detailed understanding of building processes. This position is salaried and entails on-site work with weekly travel to Monroe, LA. Competitive per diem and travel incentives are offered.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, preferably within DPR’s core markets.
• Demonstrated strong work ethic and 'can-do' attitude.

Responsibilities

• Manage project team members and mentor project engineers.
• Control costs and manage billings, collections, and change management.
• Coordinate project planning and scheduling.

Skills

Excellent listening and strong communication skills

Ability to identify and resolve complex issues

Ability to create and support team morale

Understanding of building processes and systems

Complete understanding of cost estimating, budgeting and forecasting

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Experience with project management software

Accounting cost management software knowledge

Scheduling software proficiency

Education

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field
