Job summary

Metric DCX in Central Ohio seeks a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning planning, system startup and energization for complex electrical construction projects across Central Ohio.

You will provide technical leadership for medium- and low-voltage power distribution, review MOPs, manage safety plans and coordinate with owners, contractors and testing providers to ensure safe, reliable, and fully operational installations. Mentoring junior engineers is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years' experience in electrical quality control, testing and commissioning.
• Strong technical understanding of medium- and low-voltage power distribution systems.
• Experience with critical electrical infrastructure, including switchgear, UPS systems, generators and redundantly fed power systems.
• Working knowledge of NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E and other applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience supporting complex electrical construction, mission-critical or data center projects.
• Proficiency with CX Alloy, Procore, ACC and BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, review and approval of complex Methods of Procedure (MOPs) for electrical system startup and energization.
• Oversee lockout/tagout (LOTO) planning and energized work strategies to ensure safe execution.
• Lead pre-energization readiness reviews and support complex system startup activities.
• Review and validate single-line diagrams, switching sequences and electrical system interdependencies.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks associated with energization, startup and system integration.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex commissioning, testing and technical issues.
• Coordinate commissioning activities with owners, construction managers, manufacturers, distributors and specialist testing providers.
• Work closely with field operations, project management and engineering teams to ensure commissioning activities align with project requirements.
• Mentor Commissioning Engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of quality assurance, commissioning and testing processes, workflows and standards.
